More like jogging than running. I use a forefoot strike pattern to jog so I won't damage meniscus as much over time. The shoes themselves do promote some forefoot strike as the posterior sole of the shoe is sturdy, while the front, where the forefoot is, is flexible. I do understand that hard soled shoes improve balance and decrease the unpredictability of soles that compress. Shoes with softer soles also remove some of the force that I am applying when they compress as I lift against resistance, but at the weights that I am lifting, I have yet to feel my balance or strength be affected by shoes. As long as I maintain proper technique and can lift the weight I don't see a problem. Not sure what you meant about the work equipment? I was at home there getting ready to head out.
