Man when I was in Elementary school a Japanese friend had just moved to the states, and he had one of these Dr. Grips in pink that you'd shake to get the led out.

Hottest thing I'd ever seen., and after making my mother drive me to every store nearby, I knew this shit was fresh from the Japanese market, and it wouldnt hit the states anytime soon, I needed to have it.

Well I gathered up all my money and he sold me the pencil for $15. Now that I remember this shit, he was an asshole friend for taking advantage of me through his fancy Jap-tech.

Still worth tho, had the coolest pencil in class throughout the childhood. And I won his Japanese PSP in a bet some years later.

my rotring 600 was worth it. it writes like a champ and feels great in my hands. although you'll definitely want to be careful with the tip. don't get an 800 because the retractable tip is apparently prone to feeling like shit and failing mechanically. also make sure to get 0.5mm lead because its goat for versatility

lol if you think that people who use Mont Blanc pens are like this.

Most of the ones I know are rich but weird high-end businessmen who throw money at Veblen goods they kinda-sorta recognize. Like Chinese bureaucrats.

Also, don't get the 600 because the sleeve will break if you don't baby your pencil.

Get a Rapid Pro - it has a retractable sleeve that's rock solid. It's priced between the 600 and 800 but the best of the lot IMO.
