Nice info-graphic, but there are just so many god-damned typos that I can't take whoever made this seriously. This being sad, I played in a punk band growing up. The skin phase for me was somewhat of a transition from edgy teenage punk to the normie I am today. Needless to say, I was never anything more than a suburban poser, both as a "punk" and as a "skin". I've come to despise the punk scene. Still mainly neutral to the skinheads. Dig all kinds of punk, have listened to a fair share of Oi. It's just that a lot of people in the scene are retards beyound belief :/

Skinheads adopted part of the rudeboy aesthetics and culture, since there were a lot of (black) Jamaican immigrants in the UK and they mixed with the british lower classes. They also brought ska with them and, later, reggae.

So skinheads were not associated with any political movement, they were a counter-cultural group with their own aesthetic and music

I grew up listening to ska and punk and I really dig this aesthetic. However I don't live in the subculture and I don't want to wear clothes as a costume if that makes any sense.
Do any of you wear outfits inspired from skinheads, but without going full OiOi?
I'm thinking stuff like docs + henley and rugged outerwear, as in a denim or military field jacket
Or will I come across as a complete poser?

I do, but mostly in spirit rather than actual skinhead pieces. Docs, cuffs and a denim jacket is a timeless combo, but there's a lot you can do with it.
