The gold MacBook is made exclusively for corny white girls. That said I own the grey one and I love it. The cpu and gpu is very impressive. It drives the retina display with no UI lag. I've done some stress testing (final cut, multiple apps, and screen recording) it handles very well. The 1 port thing is not a big deal for me.
