You can choose to wear only one designer brand for the rest of your life. Cost is not irrelevant (you are given access to all of their releases for free), but you are barred from re-selling or gifting any of the clothes you receive. You may also choose different designers for the following categories: Streetwear, Menswear, Loungewear, Underwear, and Sportswear. Brands that blur the line between streetwear and menswear can be used for either category.

I'll start:
Streetwear: Damir Doma
Menswear: Ermenegildo Zegna
Loungewear: Reigning Champ

The idiots who think everyone who doesn't dress like a runway model are morons and shit on everything "normal" or "basic" are ruining this board.

High fashion isn't for everyone. People can be "into fashion" and only wear fast fashion brands. Stop being a pretentious snob.

I will say though, the person you're responding to is pretty ignorant to not know that runway/lookbooks = how you wear the clothing irl

You can enjoy high fashion as an art without wearing the goods sure , but that's the same as being into fine dining but only eating mcdonalds.
You can know everything in a book about the history of Raf Simons but to not want to wear or to have never touched a piece is going to limit your enjoyment and knowledge a ton.
If you want to wear a t shirt and jeans every day for the rest of your life please do so , it doesn't affect my life and I wont judge you for it but for you to lurk and post on a fashion board and post pics of yourself in a t-shirt for the sole purpose of showing us what you wore today (which is meant to be for interesting outfits) is once again akin to going on a food site , claiming Michelle Roux Jr is your fav chef , talking about how amazing his dishes are and how much you love fine dining then posting your microwaved burger in a 'What did you eat/cook' thread.
To talk shit about all the people who come to this site who just don't want to look offensive is a dick move but it comes out of frustration.
Some of us actually want to talk about the art that is fashion and those of you that cannot contribute because , lets face it , you don't actually care about fashion as a whole , ruin it for the rest of us.
Why are you in this thread if you like fast fashion?

I'm not even saying I only wear fast fashion. I'm knowledgable about fashion on all levels and enjoy discussing it. I own a few Damir Doma pieces and would love to analyze his runway shows with likeminded people.

That said, I understand that not everyone "gets" high fashion. I also understand that a lot of the people who claim to "get" runway shows on /fa/ are actually just pretentious and lack any deep understanding of their purpose.

I'm sick of skeletal fuccbois deriding anyone who criticizes avant garde clothing as an uncultured, knuckle-dragging moron (as you have by claiming that I am comparable to someone who only eats McDonald's and microwave dinners).

You can't post anything on /fa/ and expect a good discussion because of both sides of this "what is fashion." Those who few fashion as only wearing high fashion and avant garde styles deride any thread about more minimal, classic clothing. This is done to the point of parody (comments critiquing anyone for not wearing raf and Rick Owens have become memes). Likewise, people who think all runway and avant garde clothing is useless also deride discussion, and I can get that's it's frustrating to have to explain to these people what these clothes are for. That said, we'd be much better off with a more tolerant and understanding community.

For example, you can't post on /fa/ about looking to J.crew for casual trousers without being criticized for dressing like a pleb, even though top menswear bloggers and journalists always mix in fast fashion brands with high fashion clothing. The concept that anything that isn't high fashion is garbage and something only complete slobs wear is obnoxious and extremely pretentious. for fucks sake, someone said they thought Damir's sweater looked weird and unwearable, and you respond by claiming I must live like an uncultured idiot because I defended him. Grow up. People involved in the actual fashion industry are not this arrogant.

I agree. Also, in order to improve this board, there should be WAYWT for pure inspiration. WAYWT is just filled with those who has no experience/insight in fashion and therefore usually look like fucking retards. There should be a WAYWT where the more experienced members of this board could post for the newfags to get some inspiration.

Lol I wasn't personally attacking you , the -you- in my post is an amalgamation of all the plebs that post on this board.
You missed my point entirely , I don't give a fuck if you mix 'fast fashion' with 'high fashion' and I wasn't replying to that Damir Doma thing either. (He's a hack though.)
My point is that if you only come here to dress basic and don't get or care to learn about high fashion then don't comment on runway shows because no one cares about you and you just derail discussions.
Again , if you want to look inoffensive then do so but don't start praising h&m when you know fuck all.
Also it's fine to mix basic pieces with designer pieces BUT only when the pieces are well made along with ethically made.
Don't fucking wear made in china nylon shirts with your Damir jumper because you know that's a stupid thing to do. It's an insult to the designer , it doesn't look good and it's just proof that you don't give a fuck about fashion.
But if your J.Crew trousers are made from 100% wool and are manafactured somewhere half decent like portugal then yeah throw them in your fit as long as you don't justify it as some sort of wicked sick formula of fast x high fashion.
It's not pretentious to say fast fashion is shit , people say it's shit and call you a pleb because SOME PEOPLE GENUIINELY LIKE FASHION.
To use my previous analogy , if you walk into a michilin star place and ask for a mcdonalds milshake with your dinner they wont praise you for not caring about certain 'unofficial' fashion rules like no fast fashion.
They'll call you a dickhead for disrespecting the art.
Get it?

You can care about fashion and mixed clothing anyway you like. Tom Ford has come out saying that he wears Hanes T-shirts and pairs them with designer pieces. You are just pretentious.

This is not equivalent to going to a 5-star and ordering a McDonald's milkshake. This is equivalent to the 5-star restaurant cutting costs by buying cheap salt and other wholesale to use in their high-quality, artisanal dishes, because experts realize that this doesn't make a difference in the final product, the meal (or in the case of fashion, the outfit).
