Yeah dude I use it every single day. I live in Vermont though so in the winter when it gets cold the battery life gets cut short/it gets unresponsive. I'm hopefully getting a smartphone soon though so I can try to conserve usage and keep the iPod as long as possible. I've had it for over a year and half at this point and i've pretty much used it every day since. I bike with it, skate with it, hike with it, take it to the beach, use it as a gym bag and just a daily carry bag and the only wear it shows is on one of the molle loops on the side where its frayed from when i fell and slid and the asphalt but it didn't even rip. I've filled this bag past it limit with heavy items on many occasions and there are no busted seams and the zipper is thick and sturdy .

Not sure why the last two are even in my bag as I only just noticed them the other day, but I figured they could come in handy.

My bag is just a High Sierra, similar to the black one in pic related but an older version. Not very flashy but it's durable as fuck; got it in 9th grade and used it throughout school, as a work bag when I got a job on a eucalyptus plantation and now into my 3rd year at uni.
Despite me absolutely abusing the shit out of it all this time the only sign of wear is a slightly scuffed and faded surface.

no? why do books inherently have to be genre fiction? If you avoid churned out sequels to faux-thrillers and terribly written fantasy/sci-fi, there're many books that aren't a glorified checklist of plot structure
I don't make great efforts to avoid genre-fiction, and I still find more than enough books and papers to read, because there're a shitton of material being released. Saying it's a majority of what's available doesn't really prove anything or mean anything. even if it was a majority of the market, that only says something about what sells.
regardless, it's still a children's book. there're painfully predictable characters and a plot that's either similarly predictable, or arbitrary twists to prove something about a character. It's a nice setup for an endorphin rush when the central plot-point goes off, and the characters get their nice "human" moments (ironically in this case). I'm aware of this because I read the books when I was a child. It doesn't say or mean anything beyond that.
Candy's not a great analogy for you. children love it because their palate's not fully developed, so the flavors hit them harder, and they want them due to innate cravings for sweetness. As you develop, the flavor is less effective, and that strong sweetness puts adults off.
