I've had similar experiences with my 501XXes.

I suspect it may have to do with the dye - raw denim made to get mad fades tends to have dye that wears off much more quickly. My N&F denim is rapidly approaching my Levis' in terms of wear, and I've had the Levis for over two years and the N&F for all of two months.

worst fitting jeans I've ever tried on

I had a pair for almost a year, dope fades and fit great but the crotch blowout is real. I was at a hangout at month 8 of wearing them and bent down a little and my entire crotch ripped and I was walking around with my boxers and dick out the whole fucking night.

It's something from their LVC line. The orange tag gives it away. Can't tell the model though. If the repro wasn't recent, it'll be a bitch to find.

Anyone know of any light wash jeans that would work well in a palewave type fit? I haven't really found anything that isn't suspicious quality-wise. The closest thing that I've found, at least color wise, are these:

I'm looking for something similar. So far I have found the Nudie Pale River and Pale Sea and I really like them but Nudie is famous because the crotch gets destroyed in like two months and I actually walk a lot.

Reinforce the crotch if you're worried. It shouldn't cost you more than $10. Otherwise Levi's M&C has had some lighter jeans in the last few collections. Maybe Cheap Monday if you're on a budget. I remember seeing a Big John collab that was a light wash too, but I forget with who. Probably N&F.

Most denim companies have spent years developing methods to keep the indigo dye from crocking, so if you're not buying raws, your buying denim that's been designed to fade as slowly as possible. Sanforization apparently plays a role too, but I'd have to go drum up the article I read that in to give specific details.

rigid dragon is not raw. it's been through a wash cycle, so they won't fade as much as actual raws. all pants will fade eventually, even if you're wearing chinos, but rigid dragon is a good alternative if you're not aiming for the craziest fades

today there are probably a variety of other brands that have better fit (as fits were loose back then as well) and fabric options

the Chinese selvedge is getting better and brands like kaihara are starting to introduce budget options

How much better in quality are LVC items as opposed to the main line? They are "expertly crafted recreations from their archive", but that sounds like airy nonsense; in addition an LVC article of clothing is superficially indeterminable from a mainline piece outside of a different inside tag

Just got my pairs of 511s back from the tailor and they fit awesome. I always liked the leg from the knee down on 510s with the 6.5" leg opening, but I have semi /fit/ thighs that would make 510s impossible to wear and do anything in. Now I have a combo of both. Plus he Chinese and only charged me like $9 a pair
