I'm looking at a Fjallraven number 21- dark grey (pick related) in either medium or large.

It's for University, and I'm a first year med student if that helps at all. (So I expect to be carrying around a laptop, a good few folders + books + lunch etc at any one time). That swings me naturally to look at the large, but... I'm female, a really really short female (I'm only 149cm high) and all I can think of is the 52cm height of the large dwarfing me completely.

So, medium or large? Or- any other suggestions? Any bag advice in general? Thanks for bearing with me! Happy to pay up to £150ish pounds mark.

There isn't anything inherently wrong with them, but Herschel is basic. People that like fashion like to flock towards designs that go beyond the basic necessities of backpacks. Sure, at the end of the day it's just a backpack, but that's fashion in a nutshell. It's a hobby. It isn't really necessary to get some over-the-top bag, but others do because it's a different type of art, with a slightly different purpose rather than just something to put your shit into

A somewhat unique backpack that isn't excessively expensive, but it must be from an obscure brand. No Hershel, Jansport, Macpac, Adidas, Nike etc. I would love something from Cote & Ciel, but it's kind of out of my price range.

or

A simple backpack that I can decorate with patches inspired by image related - note the pack in the image is neoprene and I would be using a simple canvas or something. Obviously I would be using patches that pertain to me.

does anyone know of a bag like this, but one that can hold a 13'' laptop? I've been looking for a backpack in this style that sits hugging my back, instead of sagging a bit like my current messenger bag. Only thing I could think about would be the Chrome backpacks, but are a little too big.

Finally bought a 3 Day after questioning it for about two years. Wish I would've just got one in the first place.

I don't care if it's not /fa/, it's the best backpack I could ever imagine.

It's only remotely /fa/ because of they moon runes, without them they're just bad.

I have this in the navy/brown leather combo and I really like it. Enough space for large and heavy law books and it doesnt look disfigured if you fill it up. You will get compliments too

Buying a used bag for twenty dollars below retail isn't the greatest idea
But the fabric, hardware, and manufacturing costs are gonna be expensive and with a lifetime warranty like theirs you're not gonna have to worry about keeping the bag maintained for years to come
I don't see the issue, honestly
It's more than I've paid for a backpack but it seems like a fair price
