Like it or not, Apple has the design game on lock. I fucking hate their walled garden and useless OS, but they really do clever things.

The Mac Pro is genuinely clever though. The underlying thermal design is ridiculously clever, though the lack of serious upgradeability is a predictable oversight.

As for cases, I'm a huge fan of Fractal Design's work, and I love my Define R4. It's a large black faceless behemoth that's whisper-quiet, which makes it work well for my purposes.

"Web development" isn't hard to do on a toaster, and in fact I effectively did so years ago. Ditto with basic programming.

I mean, my post was hyperbolic: it's not a useless OS. That said, there's a certain point where OSX becomes unnecessarily limiting. It's been the same way for something like two decades: I can build a rig that is faster, cheaper, and more versatile (i.e. can handle a broader spectrum of gaming and development applications) than I could buy from Apple.

I use a macbook pro for document work, 2D mobile app/game dev, giving presentations, and miscellaneous development stuff. It's a good everyday computer with great build quality, nice trackpad, and good keyboard.

For my real work, I use either a custom PC with 40 cores, 64gigs of ram, and 3 GTX Titans, or an Alienware 17 laptop.

I fell in love with osx after being a lifelong windows user, and I'd keep my macbook over a comparable PC laptop any day. However, I wouldn't try to use it for extremely intensive work, that's where PCs really fucking shine.

Both have their places, and I see them as equals.

apple shit looks sleek but most devices are retardedly underpowered (protip just switch out the hardware so you can still look like a douche but at least you have a half proper computer
