Most of the mischief I know about is political. You could squirt glue into the cardslot of an ATM as an anti-bank action, make and drop a banner with some message relevant to your situation, replace road signage or advertisements, etc.

Note that I'm listing things you *could* do, consider this sentence a disclaimer of all responsibility and an instruction to look at and consider your level of legal risk.

How does talking about thunderstorms correlate with winter?

Whenever people start getting on rigid about weather resistance or special fabrics as somehow de rigueur for this stuff, I just remember this:

https://twitter.com/erlsn/status/431833657418870784

"Flyknits surprisingly ok in knee deep snow tho," Errolson Hugh, never forget.

There's tons of great winter boots out there. Personally I'm super into these >>10200849, not so much these >>10200812 but I can see them working.

I'll maybe dump some selections later, but I've been promising a Patagucci dump for days so IDK.

I had to walk through the first half of my Japan trip while it had heavy snow with my 5 year old free runs before copping a pair of snow boots. They were fine - as long as my socks were warm. Alright guys. See, there is a big difference between the shoes you can walk in the snow for one day and the shoes that will last you 3 months of winter blizzard. Flyknits are definitely cool and with rocky gore tex socks you wouldn't even catch a cold in them. But they are slippy, they will fall apart because of all that shitty salty chemicals in the city snow, basically they are just not made for winter.

What are you looking for in one? Just general purpose use? Do you frequently do outdoor activities? Do you want a bunch of pockets with the ability to fold it into itself as a neat package?

>>10203068
Unfortunately GTX sneakers are usually limited runs. I personally have the adidas zx flux gtx which you may still be able to find online since they're not too much in demand. Unfortunately I copped the greyish looking ones and realized they don't really fit with most of my wardrobe colours, plus the tongue is a little too big for my liking.

Honestly you might be better off going for a good pair of boots which have more use and durability. Otherwise just wait for the next Nikelab ACG drop.

as far as that company goes, it's called Pivotte.

gave it a look through and it's stretching the "tech" label pretty fucking far imo (would wife the model tho, fucking weakness for redheads).

try Outlier's women's selection, Anatomie, Royal Robbins, and Nau.

>Crush pesky bikers
Oh please, half this clothing was designed with cycling in mind, and if you knew anything about the history of expedition vehicles, you'd know RRs were dropped ages ago for Mitsubishis and Toyotas because they're simply better. Because they actually run.

It makes me sad; there's something beautiful about the old Defender and the current lineup are very pleasant 21st-century limousines, but they're the equivalent of the waxed Barbour you see people wearing when they climb out of them in front of their country house.

What cars are harmonious with techwear is a tougher question I'll loop back to if I get a chance before the thread dies, but, man, come on.

One easy and absolutely true answer is the Mini Countryman ALL4, a patently ridiculous overbuild of a new version of a sports version of a classic innovative econobox that has been driven by the winners of the Paris-Dakar Rally four years in a row, i.e. every year it's existed.

techwear seems more urban focused to me. I don't know if these offroad cars would represent them as well. a fully loaded murdered out range rover seems more congruent, or a if storage is less important and performance is necessary: Nissan GTR.

The thing about "techwear" is, to the extent it refers to anything, it refers to a very wide, diverse swath of garments and styles that have certain overlapping aesthetic, emotional, and practical tendencies, concerns, and themes in common*. It's not very useful at all as a critical term but very useful in getting people together to talk about that stuff if they can avoid yelling about millimeters of water column or whatever.

The point being, we're talking about a lot that might have more difference than commonality**, but one very strongly resonating thing is the idea that clothing should be able to flop back and forth between urban and wild environments and perform to a high standard in both places.

I think that, the creation of that and the desire for that, comes from a gut understanding people are getting that they're not all that different, and are becoming less different by the day, that we're getting clothing for the anthropocene/clothing out of the same cultural marrow the concept of the "anthropocene" came.

So, um, the techwear car is a bike with a frame from titanium scrapped from warplanes and convertible woven dyneema panniers, or we're all dead. Happy extinction, everyone!

Trip disappeared for some reason.

Looping back around, a Range Rover seems less congruent, or congruent with less, than many other options. Depending, if we're talking SUV, any of a Land Cruiser, Pajero, Mercedes G, Audi Q, BMW X, Porsche Cayennes, a GMC or Hummer for the Global Rakuten Operators... all of those seem better. Range Rovers just aren't terribly performance and are fundamentally backwards looking.

The GTR is a good suggestion. Teslas, Subaru BR-Zs, Priuses, beat to shit old Toyota trucks, all of them could mate well for some stuff here.

But I think it comes down to cars like the Countryman All4 again, or the other Minis: performance station wagons. At the high end, cars like the Ferrari FF, Porsche Panamera,

* You might say they have... common threads. You might also say I'm terrible and should stop.

** I'm going to link a Twitter conversation in a little bit about tech womenswear, when I can respond to a post about it, that involved Errolson Hugh and Abe Burmeister, two designers who are worlds apart but both got looped into it. In it, Errolson distanced himself/Acronym from "techwear," something he's done at least a few times before, even though obviously to all of us if-Errolson-then-techwear. It says a lot.

Acronym SS-J4, from S/S '07. Tilak produces a very very similar jacket, the Loke, except in Ventile instead of a synthetic softshell.

http://www.firmamentberlin.com/acronym/10416/ss-j4_softshell_jacket.html

There was also a special edition of it the SS-J4 with khaki and olive colorways.

I want someone to ID the vest. Looks like Acronym but I don't think I've seen it before.

>Dakar rally car in urban setting.

X-Raid who makes the mini's is from my home town, those things are not Mini they are larger then a fucking Q7 that is lifted, also they are not even Mini's but used to be X3's which weren't even X3's since it's just a custom made tubular chassis with the skin of whatever BMW wants to promote.

A Range Rover so far comes closest in terms of train capability which still exists, half the owners never even cross a muddy lawn but that's besides the point most people in tech wear will never endure the conditions their garments aren't designed for.

Otherwise I would have said Defender/Patrol but those are like sailing jackets, wonderful capability yet they look out of place in an urban situation.

See, that's the weird thing. It looks exactly like the J3/J7, the jackets derived from the French F1, except AFAIK it was never produced as a vest and the velcro for the label tape and Forcelock (Forcelock = ACR talk for the earbud magnets) is on the collar on those.

Some Googling turns up that that's Peter Brunsberg, the founder of Bagjack, which does the production for Acronym's bags. It's possible it's a one-off custom thing or a sample, but I'm hoping it was production and I just don't know it.

Good find. I was looking at a different HY-J3 variation digging around. The fabric definitely looks like Epic.

So what I'm thinking: the pattern's from the E-J3 that copy mentions, almost certainly. Either it was just sewed up like that for Brunsberg, or Brunsberg, having a seam ripper around his bag workshop, just made himself a vest from a jacket.
