Cav empt is known for it's incredible quality. Both the made in Japan pieces and made in China one's.

I've personally have owned 7 pieces and the quality is equal to the better Supreme, Raf, Rick, pieces I've owned.

Haven near me has carried Cav Empt for some time and it's by far the lowest quality brand that they carry, even compared to similarly priced brands that they also carry like WTAPS and Needles.

That's not to say the quality is -bad- but the kind of uproar you're making is ridiculous. Brands like Hender Schemes or ACRNM or Engineered Garments are known for their build quality, Cav Empt is not. They are known for their unique(ish) aesthetic. Making hollow claims like 'better than raf/rick blah blah' is just silly, and it doesn't take much handling of the actual product to know that it isn't true.

I never said Cav Empt quality was at the level of ACRNM, Engineered Garments, etc.

However, the quality is definitely not trash and is at the level of the price point. Take into account an ACRNM jacket till run you $750+. It better be 2X the quality of a $300 Cav Empt piece of that money.

I have compared Cav Empt to pieces I've owned in my collection. Supreme, Rick Owens drkshdw, Raf, Helmut Lang, etc. For the most part, the quality was fairly consistent throughout.

Maybe I just own the better pieces by Cav Empt. I don't have any of their shirts for instance.

Here is a post from SUFU talking about Cav Empt in China.

t's less common that china allows smaller run clothing whereas Japan probably has specialty production facilities that allow smaller orders but a premium price. If they are making items in bulk or want to get a higher margin but lower quality, they may choose china. Also of the items you mentioned, t-shirts actually could be made anywhere but the final country of production can be labeled as such. For example, the tees were probably made in mauritius or some shit, then flown out to Japan to be silkscreened or have branding added and can legally be marked as "made in japan". The knit may be a specialty item that is low quantity, same with the fleece pullover. Additionally the button down shirt is a common item so the factory in China may have had low enough minimums and good quality control and production capacity. The outerwear is a no brainer for me, most of the earlier run CE outerwear is based off of generic military garments, all from Chinese factories. Most of these factories just modified patterns or literally just added a small amount of branding and labeled it as CE. Think of it as how supreme does a lot of alpha garments, they are already made at alpha but alpha will modify the pattern or add different branding.

I agree with you. This is only marginally true. Cav Empt's cuts have allot of subtleties that separate them from off the shelf cuts.Far more than what I can say for Supreme. Many of there sweaters, jackets, parkas, are far more technical than I've seen from 90% of streetwear brands.

It is a very tastefull combination of a 90's styling, with a modern slim fit. It is subtle, but a great detail I've never seen on any other hoodie.

I think this would look alot better if he got a size up and just worked the rest of his fit around the hoodie. That's how this stuff works, cav empt pieces are appearance hogs so you have to work with the silhouette not try to make it look normal and be "safe"

I used to care A LOT that my clothes were super fitted and had perfect proportions and dumb shit like that and not that I've stopped caring about fashion, but the only shit I buy now is just more luxurious basic stuff and cooler versions of already normal clothes (like a cav empt hoodie)

The reason the outerwear is made in China is because most factories in Japan don't manufacture for small run custom items. Whereas many factories in China offer tooling for short/ small run manufacturing.

All the sweaters, knits, shirts, denim, shirts, hats, beanies, backpacks, and some of the jackets are made in Japan.

Yeah allot goes on sale, but usually not by much. Furthermore, size Medium and Large are always sold out before then.

They usually don't discount on their website, and when they do, it is never the good pieces. Basically the left overs from the season.

Other websites like Haven shop, Bodega, etc discount. But again, the good sizes are always sold out before the sales.

Unless you wear a size Small or XL, don't count on sales. You need to buy size M-L before then.

UKfag here and finding clothes that fit properly is a nightmare. Every shop has different sizing, but occasionally you'll find a gem or two. Uniqlo is a godsend.

also chill with the whole cav empt debate, the quality is definitely nice but nothing too insane or special; literally nobody has ever once bought a cav empt piece on the basis of it's "quality" alone. that's like saying you buy a bape camo jacket for the "quality". you're also paying the premium mostly for their iconic (lmao) designs. not necessarily the materials.

cav empt is cool (imo) almost entirely because of the graphics they use and the aesthetic they represent (which you can effectively write off as vaporwave tumblr w/e and now that you've labeled it, hate it with all the salty fibers of your being)
but they were the first brand to actually dedicate themselves to that look and with the backing/ expertise of sk8thing it's instantly something to pay attention to more than some teen's bigcartel.
