I dunno how hard you want to hit this washed out, sandy neutral thing. I think Mother in grey suede is one of their best, but it's also core and doesn't go on sale. Of the sale stuff, that suede cream is cool, but some of the darker neutrals might wind up being more versatile.

Otherwise, if this is too much, just go with the classics that you were originally considering. Nothing wrong with that.

Paler than they look. Check out the catwalk. Bought some, it was labelled as slim when they came, although they were very obviously tapered to the same frame as the model, must be a mistake on either weekday or asos' part. They also stretch some, but not outrageously so. Can't judge quality as I haven't had them long.

It's mostly the poor quality control. When I went to try on some 511's I didn't know about the quality control. Tried on a pair of stonewash and loved the way they fit, went back to the rack and found a black pair buried and bought the black pair instead without trying them on first. The black pair fits completely different in the leg than the stonewash I tried on. Gonna need to tailor them.

I've been copping some palewave-toned clothes. However, I feel like I'm leaning too heavily on the pastel side and don't have enough earth-toned stuff. Well-coordinated earth-toned outfits usually look pretty sophisticated, but I feel like I haven't developed that enough in my wardrobe, even in non-Palewave terms.

I think it's probably because it's easier to automatically go for black, white, and spectrum hues, over rare hues. Probably why most palewave seems to revolve around blue and white, or sometimes pink, blue, and white.

People will go "lol Converse," but that's because most people here are trained to shit on or praise brands based on their perceived coolness factor here, and not on how they work with an outfit. People will literally go "nice outfit except those are Converse so actually it's bad" in WAYWT.

I'm not a fan of Converse in general, but these would work in a typical pale outfit. But personally, I'd choose cream over white.
