yes op, i do own these boots. my thoughts:

1. for the money, its a great quality boot. sturdy construction.
2. One thing I do not like, personally, is it has gold colored hardware. I would much prefer silver.
3. I do think the leather is maybe a grade lower than red wing heritage boots. its not a huge drop off, but the leather on these feels slightly "plasticky" to me.
4. nice vibram soles. very comfortable once broken in.

They look p cool, every time they are brought up they seem to receive positive comments. I wish it was Fall so I could cop and wear some.

Yes, though note I have the older model (there's allegedly been a quality drop over the last ~4 years, I've owned them for about 6).

Excellent fucking solid-ass boots. The leather on mine is equal to that of Red Wing, but the new ones I've seen are thinner. The newer ones are also tanned in a different way from mine - I used Obenaufs on mine until they got an ultra-dark brown (from a light tan), the newer ones seem a bit more manufactured somehow. The sole is phenomenal and holds up to all the shit I've thrown at it - hiking, being in factories, etc.

They look near-new and I've had them for 6 years, so that's about as best as I could ever ask.

In short, I'd look at them in person. If there really has been a drop in quality, I'd probably go for the slightly more expensive Red Wing. If there hasn't been a drop in quality, the Kathadins are too good to pass up.

Oh, I really have no idea. I just meant the fact that I wouldn't wear the boots right now since it's Summer and all. I'm guessing they are cheaper during this time, though, because they are more in demand once Fall hits. Maybe every now and then they will have a sale, I think they had one not too long ago and they were a lot cheaper than the current price.

they usually dont go on sale. theyre about $210 american dollars i think. its a good price for the boot. I wouldnt go any higher though

Oh hey, those look nice.

I have the captoe version, they are pretty good. If you are super patient you can get them on sale. (I got my for about 160-180ish)

I think if I had to do ti over again, I'd probably get the cordovan version. I'm a skeleton, so boots look pretty silly on me with muh slimmer pants, but I think the cordovan just look so beautiful. If you take care of them though, the captoe version fades to a pretty lovely color. I probably have a pic somewhere, I'll check later.

I usually just use them as my cold weather rain and snow boot though.

I've had mine for 3+ years. Wearing them right now. For the price range they have the nicest looking toe profile.

>> No.10146268

How's the sizing? Thinking about copping.
