guys this is urgent
Does thin/stretchy denim necessarily mean it's bad quality denim?
I bought these light wash selvedge jeans (USA made) from AG and they feel sort of thin and have a stretchyness to them. Is that a bad thing?

I love the wash so damn much, now I'm just sort of debating about keeping these.
Like I said above, I got a pretty good sale price on them, so yeah.

Sorry if I seem really indecisive, I'm just not entirely knowledgeable regarding quality vs. fabric weight.

On the item description, it also says
"cut from mid-weight selvedge denim", but the actual jeans feel very soft and sort of thin like I mentioned above. Could it be because they're a light wash that they feel softer?

"beeswax" is not leather slathered in wax

what you have is what essentially is C-grade leather of scraps

they chop it p really finely, mix it into a vat of liqid plastic, roll it out flat than use a spray gun to paint it

they then take that "sheet of leather" stick it in a machine that stamps the pattern

and have a chinese factory worker pt it through various machines that constrct the boot

now you know how your shoes are made

what do you think

>How do I make them stretch exactly on the thighs?

Fabric that can stretch out just stretches where it's tight. I don't know what answer you expect people to give you; some sort of device that simulate a thigh and provide periodic pulling on the fabric? It's just a ridiculous question.

>Do I wear them in if that's even possible since they were used?

Stretch fabrics that are usually used in women's denims don't stretch. That's the point. The fabric has enough elastane/spandex/lycra in it that the fabric retains its memory and returns to its original shape after it's taken off the body. A pure cotton that is well worn will already be as shrunken/stretched as possible.

I guess I just don't understand why anybody would buy something that kind of fits and then take it home and then realize that it doesn't fit. That's what the dressing room is for.

>> No.10091491

You can have anything done, if you can find a tailor/seamstress to do it. The question here sin't whether you can, but whether you should. What happens to the pocket proportion and the pocket bag when you shorten the length? How is the button stance altered? Changing a garment isn't just hacking off some length and finishing the lining; it's a shift to how every other component n the design actually reads and wears.

There's an urban outfitters near my place and I heard they carry 510's or whatever so I was thinking of stopping by and trying on a pair before buying. But could anybody give me a picture or something of what the new 510's look like? Or maybe a recommendation of a brand with a similar fit/quality in the same price range?

Compression shorts are honestly the greatest invention ever made. I started wearing them for sports before high school and when high school sports started I had no time to change. So instead of changing at school I wore my compression shorts underneath throughout the entire day. Ever since I haven't touched regular underwear. Only thing is that they're very pricey.>>10093710

Recently copped a pair of julius boots with a crepe sole like pic related.
After wearing them around a bit, I think I'd prefer something less squishy. I know Julius sometimes uses vibram ripple soles, but how difficult would it be for a cobbler to re-sole a boot like this? Would the entire heel need to be re-built, because I'm worried that I'll lose the concave profile?

being fit makes finding clothes easier, but even slimming down a little bit will help things fit better

I have fairly broad shoulders and uniqlo XLs fit very well, whereas I went shopping with a grill to Forever 21 and copped some well-fitting basic tees for like 3 dollars each, which fit just as well, but were larges

shop around, you're bound to find something you like and can stick with

it is a dumb question, very dumb

it all depends on the brand of the jeans exactly what fit they are going to have, but that I would say is a "slim fit" with a "low rise" (also that model has super short legs, not a good example).

go to stores and dry out different fits, see what you like best. it's as easy as that
