For fuck sakes, there are plenty of reasons, including (1) you need to get a job at some point, (2) you'll probably have to wear decent clothing at that job, (3) it isn't the case that dress clothing is not comfortable, and (4) if you're an engineering student, you need all the help you can to get laid.

Just get well tailored clothing and it'll be comfortable.
