Wave is a general, wide reaching trend in fashion. A micro-zeitgeist. "Loosewave," for example, identifies a push towards for looser fits, and away from the generally tight silhouettes that have had prominence in the last decade.

Core defines what could be called a 'pseudo' or 'micro' lifestyle, elaborating a certain general aesthetic, with accompanying habits and moods that the clothing style is both inspired by and an ultimate result of. Take normcore or slackercore, for example. Do note that its use is always at least partially ironic, in line with 4chan's general disdain for petty self-investment in identities.

It goes without saying that these are their definitions in the ideal, not always in practice. With any colloquial term, abuse and misuse is expected.
