In this very moment I feel like even 100€ quartzes from meme brands are just fine. To me Tissot is already a massive overkill at sub 1k€. I got into watches when they were talked about in /g/ so I always appreciated the engineering and mechanics more than the fashion aspect, so back then when I bought mine I was thinking of that to justify the price, it also had a perfect dial (to my taste), not too sparse and not too elaborate. Now I see watches more as a /fa/ item that doesn't need expensive movements or fancy "Swiss Made" markings to look good.
