Hey /fa/... I'm wanting to make a diy CDG BLACK dip dye shirt (pic related)

I have a 100% cotton shirt that has a similar pattern to the one shown. Would I need to use dye remover to remove the section of the pattern I want to dye over? Or could I simply dip the shirt in a more concentrated dye solution (or simply dye it without extra dye or dye remover?)

I'm new to dying clothes so any help would be sweet...
