i think reading about the creator and their work might give you an insight into their creations and allows you to pick up visual patterns (i.e yohji talking about vintage policeman's uniforms)
i dunno i guess i take an interest in general culture and fashion and that allows me to pick out ideas - my knowledge is not encyclopaedic by any stretch but it's nice to be able to identify something especially when it's recontextualized/reimagined in a cool way
it's hard to explain?
but yeah looking at collections is cool especially if you can try to articulate what it is exactly about a look or a piece or even a collection in general?
what kind of stuff you like?
