yes, i do think your hair will look very similar. Maybe wavier.

You're probably looking at almost two years of growth from where you're at though, his hair is really really long. I would suggest starting no-poo now. It's worth it when you have long hair. It really helps with frizziness

Here's my hair. It's very similar to yours texturally. This is one year of growth. I haven't shampooed in two years. Your hair will get clean from the water alone as long as you scrub good enough.. I even work out every day.

You can control texture through how vigorously you comb in the shower. No combing means dreadlocks. Excessive combing can cause frizziness. I'm somewhere in the middle.

Hope this post helps somehow. Like I said, my hair texture was identical to yours when I had that cut. That's also what I grew mine out from. Good luck. It takes a lot of patience

As someone that grew theirs out from a Hitler youth, I'm not sure if it would be better than starting from a blank slate like (>>10406105)

But I will say that I got pretty lucky because the longer hair on the top of my head falls to the same point as the shorter hair that grew from the sides

Here are photos from one year in. My hair grows moderately fast but that's cancelled out by the waviness/curliness. As your hair gets longer it will feel like the growth slows down. It doesn't, its just less noticeable when you've already got a bit of growth. An inch of growth on 8 inches of hair is only subtly noticeable, but is very noticeable on 1-2 inches of hair

i would tend to disagree with "tapering off" of shampoo, because it's just going to prolong the adjustment period. going straight no poo isn't nearly the shock that most people think it is. my hair was greasy for a week max. I started in may 2013

i also disagree with people who think that sweat or physical activity means nopoo isn't possible. i run 3-5 miles in the morning 6 days a week. sweat comes out of your hair very easily with water and leaves no smell.

i only wash my hair with water. i went camping this weekend and the campfire smell stayed in my hair until after my shower today, though was barely noticeable after the first shower

you just have to wait until the poofy stage subsides. long hair takes a long time.
