So I bought some new boots and this is the damage I did to my heels in about 30 minutes of walking. My feet seem to be lifting up and rubbing against where the upper begins.

Is this due to needing a smaller size or just a mismatch in shape of feet vs boot? I usually wear a size 12 in sneakers but wear size 11 in previous boots, which is the same as these. I've also tried heel inserts but that did nothing for me.
