selvedge is a line on the seam of the denim which is created when old types of looms are used to make the denim, people argue this makes the denim stronger but it doesn't make any noticeable difference, modern jeans are cut from large rolls of denim so the edge isn't there

High school senior here looking to purchase my first pair of selvedge denim.

Where should I start? Preferably not too expensive and doesn't have to be raw denim

OP here.
Not an expert but by what I understand raw is non-fabric washed denim and selvedge is pic related. Raw doesn't necesarily have selvege, and selvedged jeans don't necesarily have to be raw.
