i am 6'4, however when asked my height in a social setting i will state that i am, in fact, only a mere 6' tall. i will then ask another male involved in the conversation what their height is, at this point they are forced into either saying they are shorter than they actually are or appearing as if they are lying about their height. i do these things because of people like you.

No way you're getting past that firewall without an expert on the job.
