Maybe, I've had and sold ETA 27XX's and 2472's that were well worn but still worked well as they were serviced and weren't beat to shit.

The 2824-2 is so well documented because they've been sticking it in every low to mid end automatic for years, and it's this specific movement that has the gear train issue with the crown wheel. (IIRC isn't even considered part of the keyless works as it's a gear)

Yet a Vostok has no hacking, no quicksetting, much lesser performance OOB and is generally much more crudely made/finished. And i've seen Vostoks that have had some very wonky winding over the years, mostly from wear and abuse like any other watch. They are also rather easy to work on. (Except that seconds hand spring with the small annoying screw)

And though the automatic gear train is similar in general layout but on a Vostok 2416 instead of two reduction gears and and it being connected to the crown wheel it has a reduction wheel and a part that reminds me of chronograph clutch of a Seiko 613X chrono and connects directly to the mainspring ratchet (IIRC called a pinion). However that makes the movement overall taller.
