The best one-fits-all watch is imo the Rolex Datejust in 36 mm. Might fit your budget used, prices have gone up on them quite a bit though in the last few years.
The Explorer is not a dress watch by the way.

Datejust is probably the best overall Roelx, if you like it you should go for it. Will last you a lifetime, even if you don't kys yourself after your inevitable burnout.

I mean you can wear whatever you want to a wedding, it would probably look dumb to do it in a Sea Dweller or big Navitimer but why would you need to go beyond a Datejust or similar in terms of cleanliness?
Sure I'd like to have a Saxonia one day but to for me dress watches literally the least important group of watches.
When I wear a suit I wear what I want because I'm not a wristlet and people around me are looking up to me anyway. The overall style is still fine with a diver under a suit.
Fucking Apple watch plebs in my company don't even deserve to look at a Patrimony or Saxonia until they repent their sins.
Plus this age old argument >>15334629

Not even gonna go into the whole desk diving argument though. I hate SCUBA diving but I take my divers into the water all the time. There's more benefits to a dive watch other than being able to safely dive with it.

I don't know, are you sure? Because if Rolex keeps upping the price of their watches each year by 300 Francs and 1000 Francs in a facelift year it would be hard for the used and grey market not to rise in a similar fashion.
Can you give me a quick rundown?

>That being said, Rolex succeeds with this model
It makes me so mad and at the same time they already broke down my resistance. God damn them all to hell, these Swiss guys are so smart.

Agreed about the DD but I think I'll stay with my decision of picrelated and for christmas a used 11670LN GMT instead. The Day-Date won't run away soon and there will surely be a more suitable occasion to celebrate with this purchase.
I was told that my combination (36 mm Datejust with sticks on blue dial) takes the longest, I'm looking at 6 to 8 weeks until they can get me one. Same watch but black dial would be two weeks. I didn't really need it that soon so I don't care and since it's a pretty big and reputable dealer I didn't have to give them any down payment or anything.
