OP, just own it. If that's how you want to look then go for it. The whole "LOL u R too old to look lyk that!' mentality is kind of immature in itself. I don't know what you're into edge wise, punk, goth , metal, whatever (you seem more punk to me) but if that's the case there's no wrong way to do it. You don't have to dress edge to be punk, many famous members of band didn't. But if you like dressing alternatively, I do too, just buy tasteful thing and own it.
