Because of their insane obesity rate, fatsos can't wear medium size watches, it looks tiny and ridiculous. So the Swiss industry started making large diameter watches in the 90s to boost their sales in America. And because luxury is all about limited production, it was more profitable for the watchmakers to market large watches for the whole world than making different sizes for different markets.
This is why you'll find some retards here claiming that REAL MEN WEAR LARGE WATCHES DURRR COPE WRISTLET. They were just fooled by luxury brands and don't even realize it.
