>Nike loves boasting about "Air" technology when in actuality it is nothing but regular air in an EVA plastic cartridge.

Actually, it's nitrogen. Used to be cf6 gas until it was banned and deemed environmentally unfriendly in 2004. Cf6 was far more dense and allowed for larger air bubbles and much more comfortable shoes.

>Nike founder (Phil Knight) has said numerous times in every interview that Nike is a Marketing Company, not a technology company. Meaning they don't have to make good shit, they just have to market it to you in the right way so you saps buy it.

Bingo, I still eat it up. But yeah, they're not selling innovation anymore. Haven't been since Knight stepped down. But their marketing was so good and aimed at children in the late 80 through early 00s, saps like me eat it up and continue to buy their overpriced mediocre products.

I've been into Nike sneakers for over 20 years. In all honesty, 97s are FAR from my favorite Air Max. It's a free flowing and well proportioned design, but it's def one of those shoes that looks better DS on the shelf as opposed to worn on feet.

People rarely style these right; either doing way too much with their fit or clashing different style, making the shoes look out of place. In general, this is a shoe that works much, much better on women. Silver bullets and golds in particular. They're flashy tones, complimented well by mild jewelry and simple fem normcore attire like jean skirts, shorts, white tanks and tees.

It's relativley simple silhouette, draped in soft curves, with a flat sole and the overall design of the shoe has an overwhelmingly feminine vibe. Contrast to a classic mens shoe from this era like the TN, which also features sweeping lines, but they're far from free flowing and juxtaposed, ending in opposing rigid 90° angles at the toe box, horizontal stripes and a high arched, muscular contoured midsole. This is a overwhelmingly agressive design with very masculine characteristics that works much better on men.

Like all Air Max from this era, they work well with athleisure but aside from silver bullets, no other colorways coordinate with a more normcore vibe. Neons do work well on older guys with traditional 90s-00s "sneakerhead style"... if you want to call it style lol... I'm talking about camo and graphic tees.

1 - dead to me.
2 - not a fan.
3 - Babbys first Jordan. Modern retros are so bulky they look like skater shoes.
4 - quality design. Very easy to wear.
5 - Best Jordan for daily wear. Understated with pants. Just loud enough with shorts or tongue popped. Get better with age with yellowed/gum bottoms.
6 - quality design. Lots of interesting details.
7 - ghetto tier trash. Poor man's VI
8 - great for kids.
9 - stellar design. OG black/white will be forever be classic.
10 - Nostalgic for me, but not a huge fan.
11 - Played out. Babbys second jordan. Still a great design.
12 - quality design.
13 - really eye catching and organic amazing performer on court.
14 - perfect evolution from the 13. One of my personal favorites.
15 - criminally underrated. Way ahead of its time.
16 - Favorite J design-wise. Perfect blend of old and new.
17 - Well executed with very high quality. Made for an aging MJ so while his older shoes were good for agility, this was a better big man's shoe.
18 - extremely comfortable. Shit design.
19 - Chinese finger traps for feet
20 + who cares?

1/2?
