I get the majority of my stuff from Thrift consignment and vintage, but the quality of shops varies from town to town. Pants and shirts bespoke because I'm long. Once in a blue moon I'll get a jacket or something from Brooks Brothers, Orvis, Peregrine, etc. But it's better to have a few good pieces that make 3-4 outfits than a bunch of shit you don't wear, and imo it's always better to try things on in person.
