Don't know if it's your style but I went with a Furror Jacot 18k white gold with carbon fiber. Brushed main body, polished on the other side of the carbon strip. Neat without being too out there.

Only Swiss meat gazers actually think Seiko produces all shitters. Dollar for dollar they're ahead of the curve. They've got plenty of history. As you said, they produce some awesome designs. They've got movements and finishes that beat out a lot of their peers at various price points between entry shitter and luxury shitter.

They're popular and can be found everywhere though, that is what generates most of the vitriol. You can't brag about Seiko for the most part, you are not unique wearing a Seiko. That is an turnoff for the special snowflake crowd.

I've had great luck with micro brand shitters using NH35 guts. Both of my current ones run somewhere between +3 and +5 seconds per day. My 6R15 runs closer to +10s/day, though it's new and I've seen movements "break-in" for better and for worse. Time will tell. NH35 seems all across the board though, have a buddy whose NH35 movement watches push the limits at like +/- 22s.
