Anticonformism and an appreciation of irony. Plus a lot of this stuff can be super a e s t h e t i c. Silhouettes can be cool af, oversized shirts and eyegrabbing patterns.
The same reason you do anything /fa/, you want people to look at you and you want to look good at the same time. It's easy to look good in a conformist fit but noone looks at you and sees it because you blend in.
