I am currently using tretinoin 0.05% + benzoyl peroxide 2.5% and I recently read this https://simpleskincarescience.com/tretinoin/ article. It makes three major claims:

- Tretinoin has a "mediocre effect" on acne.
- Tretinoin shouldn't be combined with benzoyl peroxide because "tretinoin is an unstable molecule and oxdizes in the presence of benzoyl peroxide".
- Benzoyl peroxide is more effective than tretinoin in treating acne.

All of these claims go against everything that I up to this point read. Most people at /fa/ and /r/tretinoin say that retinoids such as tretinoin are really effective and much better than benzoyl peroxide. Also there are multiple studies where patients combine tretinoin and benzoyl peroxide (not at the same time, but in the same routine nonetheless) and have great effects.

What do you guys think?

I think it would be better to moisturize after applying the tretinoin. Tretinoin dries your skin you know

So how where would you recommend putting the tretinoin in my already existing routine?

I personally don't have severe acne so I would like to avoid isotretinoin. pic unrelated
