Any recommendations for something with a slim profile and good quality like Vibergs? Any recommendations for Chelsea boots?

What you have to understand is that while the info in that image is correct, it applies to modern hiking boots, which have very different properties from something like a Wolverine 1000 mile, which deliberately imitates a century-old design for purely aesthetic rather than functional reasons. The leathers found in modern utility boots are not comparable to the Chromexel and other fashion leathers used in fashion boots such as 1Ks (And, they can take a beating, but they are undeniably fashion boots). Sno Seal has gone out of favor with some professionals in the past few decades because the chemical properties of the leather used in purpose build work boots have changed as treatment methods evolved to make it more durable, it often doesn't react to heat quite the same as it used to, and Sno Seal, a product designed with 1930s boot technology in mind, can sometimes have unexpected effects. The biggest modern issue which Dave Page is referring too is that Sno Seal prevents just about any adhesive from sticking to leather, which complicates things when trying to resole a boot with a glued on sole.

However, 1Ks do not have a glued on sole. It's a non issue. To reiterate, 1Ks are designed to imitate the feel and most importantly the look of an early 20th century boot. That goes hand in hand with the treatment they are meant to receive. You want a vintage look, use vintage product. Sno Seal, Obenauf's, and other wax based preservatives will weatherproof 1Ks just as well as they did workboots 70 years ago. They may be technologically obsolete, but remember, so are all-leather boots. That's not the point.
