I only have one pair with grain leather and it feels really good.
It's soft, I think the pattern makes it more flexible.
It doesn't seem to crease much.
No idea about scratches.

Depends on the boot design and pattern.
More formal makers like C&J or Carmina try to get them close together.
Viberg is on the extreme other end of the spectrum with intentionally wide facings.

Pic related are my very gay Carminas, the facings stay at a constant width from each other from top to bottom (heh) which I think is a good sign. They fit really well in general.

It looks very burgundy in the photo but irl they're like a dark brown, only a bit of burgundy in them.
They look more red indoors and in low light though.
In pic related they look lighter than they actually are.

I wear them with just about everything, navy, khaki (dark), mid grey, even some nice soft dark green cords I bought from cavour last year on sale.

I bought something kinda similar from Carmina for a lot less but still expensive.

When I bought my first Carminas I paid like 390€
Now these were an MTO but ended up costing almost 600. There's a lighter color RTW model for 490€.

Any ideas how to get rid of the rain stains on the captoe? damp rag?
