Shit, this thread is creepy. I could imagine you guys look like pic related taking photos of normies to laugh at while lurking a Chinese cartoon forum.

I'm a 5/10 on a good day and I used to wear shitty jeans, autism shoes and ratty, hole filled hoodies every day because I figured since I'm not attractive there was no point in trying to dress well.

Then I started to put a little bit more care in my appearance, buying clothes that fit well and developing a personal sense of style, and I realized the way people perceived and treated you was night and day different.

Putting effort in how you dress is the same as getting your haircut or having good hygiene, if you present yourself like you don't give a fuck, people are going to treat you like you're not worth their time, because if you can't be bothered why should they. Its also a way of expressing yourself, as dressing a certain way puts out a perception you would like people to have of you.

Its also works as damage control. A super handsome guy can wear whatever he wants and get away with it. But an unattractive one might never look like a super model, but he'll still look a lot better with a haircut that frames his face well, clothes that fit and aren't shit quality, silhouettes, etc.

A good analogy is to compare it to steak vs rice. An attractive person is like a good steak. You don't have to do any special prep to it and it will still taste good. Or you can add spices or marinade or whatever and give it a different flavour, and it will also taste good.

An unattractive person is like rice. Its pretty gross when its just plain, boiled bland starch, but if you dress it up a bit with sauces or whatever it makes it a lot more palatable.
