tbfqh this sounds like a question for fuccboi general, and maybe even over at mfa.
In general taper really finishes a pair of jeans. If you don't want them to hug your thighs that's fine, but a pair of flaring jeans (I'm looking at you, 70s trend) never sits right in my mind.
Even if the style is v relaxed and wide, the natural taper at the end is the only reason it looks good. pic related is story mfg, just an example.
Pants are usually trial and error, unless you know your exact sizing in a pair of jeans in a specific model, you cannot buy online.
Oh, and Levi's are shit in QC so they never fucking fit anyway.
