you can't outrun your fork unless you do A LOT of exercise
5k in 30 minutes is like 250-300kcal for the skellies who browse this gen, if you wanted to burn a pound a week through exercise alone, you'd need to run 10k in an hour 6 days a week, it's doable but you could easily lose twice that amount with half the effort by just eating less, I think cardio is best as a supplement for weightloss, >>14800201 is right.

resistance training is pretty important if you want to prevent muscle breakdown though, otherwise you might end up skinny fat and flabby
