An older E30 would be more appropriate and probably ideal. Datsun 510 or RX-3 would also be very good choices.

240z, RX-7 FB, Porsche 928, MR2 AW11. All of those would also be good choices too.

I think anything older than that is too much of an old mans car. I think you really want something that stands out, and makes you and your fit visible without putting you in a convertable.

I honestly don't think there are many newer cars that qualify as /fa/. Modern safety requirements make the pillars too large.
