I recently started shaving my head because I'm going bald but the idea of getting a hair transplant is crossing my mind now that I can tell how far back my hairline is and how much donor hair I have.

I was thinking something relatively conservative and get around 2.500 plugs (I'm heavily receding, but I don't have much thinning). In Turkey you can get that for around US$ 4.000, sometimes they even cover part of the flight, they pick you up from the airport and give you a room at a hotel.

Something like that would cost you 4 times more in the west. To my knowledge, the main difference is that in Turkey you get the surgery done by a technician rather than a doctor, but even so, the price difference is just too much and these people have tons of experience.

I only have 3 concerns:

1) What's the worst that can happen with a botched hair transplant? Because if it looks bad or unnatural I can just shave my head, which is what I'm doing at the moment. Who gives a shit.

2) Do I need to be on fin and use minox to keep the results? I had a bad reaction to fin some years ago, and putting oil in your scalp twice a day is a fucking chore, I'd rather stay bald.

3) If my hairline keeps receding, is it feasible to get a second intervention in the future?
