The issue with Aventus is that it takes a few weeks from first spray to mature in the bottle. All fragrances get a little bit stronger with the introduction of air (before the air eventually degrades the scent) but for whatever reason, Aventus is especially sensitive to this.

That's annoying when you're spending an ungodly amount of money on a fragrance, but it is what it is. It's really only Aventus, too. I've never had this occur or heard of it occurring with other Creeds. There are so many alternatives to Aventus at this point that I don't see why people bother buying it, but if for some reason you must, this is what's happening. When you first buy it, wear it for a few days until the liquid level is about even with the neck of the bottle, then stash it away for a week and come back to it. You'll notice that it's much stronger.
