Whatever you get make sure it fits. It shouldn't feel restricted/tight but not loose either. If noone in the store can help you you have to look online for recommended fit. Make sure the shoulders and arm length is correct for a start.

If it's a ceremony either a suit or suit jacket and chino (fitted, not the old fashioned khaki stuff) will work. As for shoes, you can wear some (suede or leather) chelsea boots, desert boots, monk straps but whatever you do make sure the colour of the belt and shoes match.

Ow and I don't know what kind of climate you are in. But if it get's really warm don't get a wool suit, get linen or something like that instead.
