Got £3,000 to spend on a watch. Split between Cartier Tank and JLC Reverso. Convince me to buy one or another. I marginally prefer Tank's design and history, but Reverso appeals to my watch-nerd side of brain more. What version should I get with this budget?

These are pretty much the only iconic watches, ie watches that are recognizable at first glance and with some sort of cultural relevance.
Seiko should be on the list for the first quartz watch but they don't have a single iconic recognizable design.
