I've always been kinda interested in clothing but never really fashion. Since I was 18 years old I've been working in popular clothing stores, initially for the bit of reputation I could get for saying I worked at X store as well as for the discount. As I spent more time there and moved on to later jobs in clothing retail I began to notice the profound effects clothing had on peoples identities, attitudes, level of esteem as well as their overall vibe, and I began to separate myself from current trends that I couldn't identify with the way I used to. Since then, I've admittedly gone through a variety of stages starting with menswear moving to streetwear and back again and I never really felt satisfied as I always felt in the back of my mind that I was dressing to look good for other people, not dressing to feel good and look good to myself

Around 22 I discovered /fa/ and was introduced to the more experimental side of fashion and started seeing clothes and designs that I could really identify with, ones that resonated with me. I had always been open to investing large amounts of money in to the things I love such as my drums or my computer, and I felt that maybe it was time to really purge my wardrobe and start over in a direction that I truly loved. So I removed everything but the most basic necessities and started purchasing nice basics that I liked and once I had a solid foundation I started moving on to designer statement pieces like Rick and Julius, and I'm still going.

I'm 5'8" and I never really get shit for my height. I never even thought about it until all the troll threads started popping up. If you know how to work with your proportions then there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to dress well. Slimmer clothing helps of course if you're that worried, but you shouldn't be.

Weird brand synergy today

>Gap coat
>Rick turtleneck
>Wings+Horns tee (no vis)
>Julius denim
>Balmain sneakers

I know most people hate black+blue but I didn't really have another coat more appropriate than this. Didn't want to wear all black.
