My grill's mum is a beautician, and she insists that pure tea tree oil is the best remedy for spots.

Which I agree with, as soon as I feel a sore bump I dab a little on after washing with warm water. Do it once or twice a day.

Don't use toothpaste, it dries your skin out and can leave a rash in some cases.
