From what I understand your body has a set amount of fuel that is readily available to be burned as energy after a meal. Once that fuel is used up, you are said to be in a fasting state. Since no fuel is readily available, your body will utilize your reserve fuel, aka your body fat. If you consider these premises to be true, then the longer period you are in a faster state, the greater amount of dormant energy, which your bodied stored as fat, is being used. this is why OMAD is considered superior than many small meals.

I am eating at at least a 400 calorie deficit and have noticed recognizable muscle growth and strength gains. Sure if I was eating at a calorie surplus the muscle would come quicker, but this is all light weight exercise anyway. The goal is likely both. Regardless it could be good for discipline / stress relief.
