lol? you need to have more faith in people. in the off chance that this does happen to me or someone else you will be gone from the rest of the group, why would it matter? don't people do that in any social situation like this (parties etc). it's just life, it doesn't mean that it has to ruin the experience. if we as people never took a chance or went out on a limb to meet others than we miss out on potential experiences. i can speak for myself in saying that more often than not i'm glad i went out of my way to talk to X person or do X thing, a lot of it ended up being great.
