I know what your talking about but I don't agree with the few studies that have done this so far. I think it's mostly pandering to that fucking fat acceptance movement to make people feel like something as highly changeable as weight isn't their fault . B.S. I want more studies saying it causes before I even start giving a shit.

As for media: we are already making strides but don't forget this has been going on for centuries since slavery.
As for Asians, no, only S.E. Asians are dark and some southern chinese. East Asians like Japanese, northern chinese, Koreans are often quite pale. You need to educate your self about this as well as the concept called social stratification and theory of the leisure class. That is a major reason why such beliefs came up. "Dark skin=poor laborer in the sun yada yada." It's all a perception created by elites in the culture. It's still pretty strong in India too esp with that caste system. These will take years to be rid of but the simple knowledge of this tells us that these things are not set in stone /inherent.Social constructions if you will. I know people are tired of hearing that word but there is high amounts evidence suggesting it a lot of the time. Even with many aspects of gender though obviously not all.
