You can get a cheaper boot that looks similar, yes. What you're paying $700 for is an excellent last and solid leather internals which makes the shoe far and away more supportive and stable.
Any monkey can fill a boot with foam, which is comfy, sure, but that breaks down over time and the constant squish means less stability on your feet. You are constantly re-breaking in the boot.

My experience with White's is this: I paid $700, and now I no longer want to wear my $300 boots because the chunky White's monster is far and away the most comfortable boot I have. And the most durable.
Bad in airports due to all the lacing but just wonderful otherwise.
