I don't know if I ever claimed that, but I wouldn't disagree until someone posts something better. I've serviced my own 7A28, and it is indeed a very well built, and well designed quartz chronograph movement.

Maybe Seiko has something better now maybe in the upper-mid range to Grand Seiko, but the reality is I wouldn't know, since those movements are restricted to Seiko service centers, so unless I ever buy one for myself and take it apart, I can't tell.

Mine's used and worn, but definitely not busted up. That could mean anything. But yeah, 1992 seems more plausible now.

Weird how I have exactly the same problem. I'm still unsure whether my Aliens Seiko is 82 or 92 make.

Hey /wt/, watch repairer here. Just had a guy from the Seiko importer in here to fill up our stock(we sell Lorus and Pulsars).

I've had a chat with him and told me Seiko is shutting down the 7S26 next year. The SKX series is also getting axed. I don't know what's going to happen to basic Seiko 5's, but he told me they're not that popular any more, they're too small and basic, while 4R36 Seiko 5 Sports models sell like blowjobs.

So I assume 7S26 gets replaced by the 4R36, and the SKX is replaced by the Tuna.

Would this watch work with anything other than the factory bracelet? Would a nato look shit on it?

Hold the croc grain jokes.

Ordered some Moebius 9000 quartz oil for this one. Normally 9010 is perfectly good for most quartz shitters, but I want the proper oil for this one. 9000 has like 2/3 of the viscosity of 9010. Also the wholesale accidentally gave me HP 9103 instead. Same red color oil, but literally ten times the viscosity (1000cSt vs. 100cSt), so it's useless for quartz movements.

When the oil arrives I'll finally start servicing this fucker. Meanwhile I have a shitton on work. I have to finish two ETA 2836-2's by tomorrow, and I have a 2824 I haven't even started yet, along with three other mechanical shitter movements. Fugg.
