Well, these were the first cut from JCPenney:

But after stumbling upon Dick's Sporting Goods, I decided they seemed to be more purpose oriented when it came to boots. The ones at JCPenneys were fine, if generally thin on tread, which is one of the easy places manufacturers seem to look to reduce price point. But being more dress oriented, they would probably age fast for me as I would be in harsher conditions.

So at Dicks, I came upon Columbias, Timberlands and a set of Muck's.

I dismissed these because they seemed a bit too extreme even for me, as I have to cross between casual and harsh settings frequently:

Its a tough choice now. The Timberlands are probably the most dress oriented and stylish. The Mucks seem the most durable and purposed, the Columbias seem to balance utility with appearance.
